Cambridge has a thriving music scene and live music can be found most nights of the week, as long as you know where to look. In recent years Cambridge’s nightlife has really grown and though club nights are still popular, more and more people are heading out in search of something just that little bit different.

From large music venues showcasing the world’s biggest bands to small pubs showcasing some of the area’s finest local talent, there are several outstanding live music venues to explore during your stay with us at the Tamburlaine Hotel. Here are just a few of our recommended pubs and clubs to consider. Be sure to check with the venue directly if there are any particular shows you want to see and to book tickets where applicable.

Cambridge Corn Exchange:

The Cambridge Corn Exchange is one of Cambridge’s most popular music venues and it’s where a lot of big acts in the music world play when they’re in town. It can hold close to 2000 people and is a hub for music lovers, so expect a fun-filled night filled with floor fillers. If you’d like to see a big name artist on tour or a popular show during your time in the city, it will most likely take place at the Cambridge Corn Exchange.

Cambridge Junction:

If you’re staying in one of the many hotels in central Cambridge, you won’t be too far from Cambridge Junction. Cambridge Junction covers all bases when it comes to live music and the bands that play here vary hugely. The venue has three performance areas and as well as music, clubs nights, events, comedy shows and theatre productions are also showcased here.

Saffron Hall:

If you prefer a more orchestral or classical performance style, head to Saffron Hall. Though a short drive from The Tamburlaine Hotel, Saffron Hall welcomes some of the best artists from around the world including the London Philharmonic Orchestra and many classical stars.

La Raza:

For something a little more low key, there’s La Raza. La Raza combines a dining and bar experience with the chance to check out a number of top local bands, making it popular with residents and visitors alike. There are lots of different events held at La Raza such as cabaret nights and club nights, so check the schedule before you book.

Man on the Moon:

The Man on the Moon is a large pub in the heart of Cambridge with a great atmosphere and even better live music. The venue hosts a number of open mic nights, live bands and acoustic sets with a focus on rock, metal and indie genres.

Whether you’re heading to a live music venue in Cambridge to see a specific band or you simply want to see what’s on offer on the spur of the moment, you won’t be disappointed with the city’s thriving live music scene.
