If you’re similar to me then you know you can’t function properly in the morning without a good cup of coffee. I would definitely say that one of the best smells in the whole wide world is fresh ground coffee. And after having that morning cuppa, it only takes ten minutes to start feeling the effects of caffeine, so drink up!
Ever find yourself wondering where coffee came from? Apparently, Ethiopian shepherds first realised the profound caffeinating effects of coffee when they noticed their goats started “dancing” after eating coffee berries. I think we can all relate to that?! In moderate amounts, caffeine has been shown to have positive effects on people’s bodies and minds. There’s some evidence that caffeine may help improve memory, enhance workouts and boost concentration. Coffee is also a potent source of healthful antioxidants. In fact, coffee shows more antioxidant activity than green tea and cocoa, two super antioxidants. Scientists have identified approximately 1,000 antioxidants in unprocessed coffee beans, and hundreds more develop during the roasting process.
So who do we choose to serve you your morning cup of perfection at Tamburlaine? We choose Lincoln & York Coffee Roasters.
The pair began by hand roasting coffee in the garden shed before selling it to local coffee shops, golf clubs and even hairdressers. With a vast range of knowledge on coffee and plenty of experience under their belts, the pair set out to become the region’s premier coffee supplier.
Today, over 20 years on, almost 19,000 coffee shop outlets exist in the UK and Lincoln & York has grown from a pop-up roastery at the bottom of Simon’s garden to a 6km2 modern facility with two roasteries, 11 packing lines and a 70-strong team. They are now the discreet manufacturers behind hundreds of coffee blends across the UK and Europe.
Lincoln & York, thank you for ensuring our coffee needs are met and for keeping us completely grounded.
